If you think to bring a coffee press to the retreat, you might do that. That way we will avoid . . . contaminating the machine there with whatever it is we are going to drink.

With regard to the Varieties of Metaphysical Poetry:

We plan to work through the flow of thought of the Clarke Lectures. The Turnbull Lectures are a condensation of the Clarke Lectures. There is better detail in the Clarke Lectures. So we will work through the argument that Eliot develops and then talk about the details.

9 PM General disbanding so that people may arrive at their lodgings at a decent hour to visit, or should it be more congenial, be unobtrusive.
