If you think to bring a coffee press to the retreat, you might do that. That way we will avoid . . . contaminating the machine there with whatever it is we are going to drink.
With regard to the Varieties of Metaphysical Poetry:
We plan to work through the flow of thought of the Clarke Lectures. The Turnbull Lectures are a condensation of the Clarke Lectures. There is better detail in the Clarke Lectures. So we will work through the argument that Eliot develops and then talk about the details.

The clarke lectures were hard to follow. I enjoyed the turnbull lectures much more. I look forward to having it all explained to me!
